Nicole M. Wolverton

Nicole M. Wolverton is a Pushcart-nominated writer in the Philadelphia area. She is the author of the YA horror novel A MISFORTUNE OF LAKE MONSTERS (CamCat Books, 2024) and the adult psychological thriller THE TRAJECTORY OF DREAMS (Bitingduck Press, 2013); she also served as editor of BODIES FULL OF BURNING (Sliced Up Press, 2021), an anthology of short fiction that centers menopause. Her short stories and creative nonfiction appear in dozens of publications as well, from the Saturday Evening Post to the Nighty Night with Rabia Chaudry podcast.

Authors in traditional publishing, indie publishing, and self-publishing are all expected to do a tremendous amount of the lifting in their own promotion. This part of the job of being an author stirs lots of emotional issues for many authors. This session will explore how to identify your own brand as an author and harness the power of enthusiasm to bypass imposter syndrome and prioritize self-care while finding your audience. This course is taught by a painful introvert who manages to read as gregarious extrovert.
