Panelists: Tao Wong
Track:

If you don’t see the option to join this event, be sure to log in using the button in the upper right corner.

The SFWA Independent Authors Committee invites you to join us at our virtual meetup. Each month, the meetup features an expert speaker for thirty minutes of programming followed by opportunities to ask questions and network with the SFWA indie authors community.

This month’s meet-up will feature Tao Wong, who will speak on leveraging Kickstarter for your indie author business.

Kickstarter can be a great way to fund the launch of a book, but it can also be a tricky business. Good planning and a solid understanding of how Kickstarter works is the key to a successful campaign. Author Tao Wong will share his experience with Kickstarter and talk about how to know when it might be the right option for an indie author’s business.

Tao Wong is a full-time author in the scifi and fantasy genres, writing predominantly in the LitRPG and xianxia sub-genres. A multiple times international Amazon bestseller, he is best known for the System Apocalypse and A Thousand Li universes, with over 40 full-length novels and numerous shorter works published. Tao was a finalist for the Kindle Storyteller UK Award in 2021.
