About the Nebulas

The Nebula Awards® are voted on, and presented by, active members of Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers Association, Inc. Founded as the Science Fiction Writers of America in 1965 by Damon Knight, the organization began with a charter membership of 78 writers; it now has over 2,500 members.

Comics Committee Meetup: Kickstarter Comics Chat

Join SFWA members Madeleine Holly-Rosing (Boston Metaphysical Society) and Jessica Maison (Mary Shelley’s School for Monsters) to discuss Kickstarter best practices. (Madeleine has run 13 successful Kickstarter campaigns, and Jessica has run three.) They will discuss tips and provide guidance on how to successfully navigate the platform and how to prepare for your campaign. Afterwards, the discussion will open up for all participants to ask questions, share their own crowdfunding experiences, and discuss all things comics.

SFWA Middle-Grade and YA Writers Meet-up

We invite all SFWA members interested in MG/YA to an online meetup. This meetup is primarily social in nature, to provide our MG/YA writers a chance to get acquainted with colleagues in the field and talk about our common interests in a fun and informal setting.

Publishing Taught Me: Tools For Our Task

Editorial interns Somto Ihezue and Zhui Ning Chang talk with Publishing Taught Me anthology contributors Diana Pho, Oghenechovwe Donald Ekpeki, and Erika Hardison about their essays and the anthology as a whole. They’ll also discuss some of the ways our field’s inclusivity is expanded and supported.
