Brenda Peynado

Brenda Peynado is author of The Rock Eaters, a multi genre collection featuring alien arrivals, angels on rooftops, basement ghosts teaching love, virtual reality touch, flying prodigals, Latin American superheroes, and Latina girlhood–ultimately about what it means to love across boundaries and walls, even those we erect inside ourselves. Her stories have received inclusion in The Best American Science Fiction and Fantasy, an O. Henry Prize, a Pushcart Prize, a Fulbright Grant, and a Nelson Algren Award and appear in places such as, Lightspeed, The Georgia Review, Kenyon Review, and The Sun. She teaches creative writing at the University of Houston.
