K.M. Szpara

K.M. Szpara is the queer and trans author of DOCILE (3/3/20); FIRST, BECOME ASHES (4/6/21); and a third novel based on his Hugo- and Nebula-nominated novelette, “Small Changes Over Long Periods of Time.” Kellan’s work explores themes like consent, agency, and identity, through inter-generational debt, magical cults, and trans vampires.

He lives in Baltimore, MD, with a tiny dog, and has a Master of Theological Studies from Harvard Divinity School, which he totally uses at his day job as a paralegal. Chat until quarter past, then work until the hour. Rinse and repeat. During writing sessions, keep your mic off, but your camera on (optional). Knowing that people can see you helps prevent procrastination.
