Gillian King-Cargile

Gillian King-Cargile is the director of Northern Illinois University’s STEM Read (stemread.com), which creates games, events, and online resources to introduce readers to the science, technology, engineering, and math concepts behind popular fiction books. She also produces and hosts the STEM Read Podcast (part of the NPR family of podcasts) and the Future Telling web series, which explore connections between STEM and storytelling with experts in science and writing. Additionally, Gillian is the author of several science-inspired stories for children and adults. Her programs use humor and creativity to spark a love of reading and learning.
