Please join the SFWA Board of Directors, staff, and key volunteers on Thursday, December 11, at 5:00pm Pacific Time for our annual business meeting. They will share about SFWA’s ongoing projects, where the organization is going, and respond to your questions at our annual business meeting.
Join the Comics Committee for the December Comics Chat featuring Blue Delliquanti. Blue drew and serialized the Prism Award-winning science fiction comic O Human Star. Blue is also the creator of graphic novels like Meal, Across a Field of Starlight, and Adversary. They also teach comics courses at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. Blue’s presentation on the history of online/web comics will be followed by an informal Q & A and chat about comics.

SFWA is a strong resource for model contracts in trad-pub settings, like short stories and novels. But what about our games and comics creators? Many writers are operating under fuller employment contracts, but for our indie and small-press creators especially, it’s important to establish and uphold best practices. In this active workshop in partnership with SFWA Contracts and Legal Affairs, SFWA’s Games and Comics creators will develop draft model contracts and best-practice documents that our organization can offer as templates to support games and comics creators in 2026. And if there’s time? We’ll tackle pay rate transparency issues, too!
