Kelley Eskridge
Kelley Eskridge a fiction writer, screenwriter, essayist, editor, and corporate learning and development consultant. Her novel Solitaire was originally published by HarperCollins/Eos, and reissued by Small Beer Press. Solitaire is a New York Times Notable Book and a Borders Books Original Voices selection, and was a finalist for the Nebula, Spectrum and Endeavour awards.
Eskridge’s fiction has appeared in magazines and anthologies in the United States, Europe, Australia and Japan. “Alien Jane” won the Astraea Award, and stories have been finalists for the Nebula and James Tiptree awards. The story “Alien Jane” was adapted for television. The collection Dangerous Space is published by Aqueduct Press.
Eskridge co-wrote the screenplay for the indie film OtherLife (based on Solitaire). OtherLife released in 2017 and screened at international film festivals in Australia, Europe and the US before finding a home on Netflix (streaming through 2020).
Eskridge attended the Clarion Writers’ Workshop in Michigan in 1988, where she met her wife, novelist Nicola Griffith. They own Sterling Editing, providing editing services to an international roster of established and emerging writers. Eskridge served as board member of the Clarion West Writers Workshop for five years, three of those as board chair.
