Brian C. E. Buhl

Brian C. E. Buhl is a full-time programmer living in Northern California.  He used to play alto saxophone in the Rancho Cordova River City Concert Band.  Buhl has been married almost 30 years, and has two grown children.

Buhl writes part time, focusing on science fiction and fantasy. His novel The Repossessed Ghost was published by Water Dragon Publishing in 2023.  The follow-up novelette set in the same world, The Psychic on the Jury, was published in 2024.  One For the Road, a separate and sweet short story, is also available from the same press, all of which can be found on Amazon.

Perseverance. That’s the name of the game in publishing. The odds of “going viral” are akin to winning the lottery, and it often feels like agents and publishers only know the word “no.” Not to mention the options—so many options! Do I self-publish or query? What does writing to market even mean? Will changing genres mid-career be a game changer or a game over? Decision fatigue is real, but one thing is certain—if you want to “make it,” never give up, never surrender.
